Experience the Magic of Northeast Columbia

A cultural kaleidoscope

Where Tradition Meets Innovation

Northeast Columbia, affectionately known as NECO, is the best of town and country. We are a diverse community in Richland County’s most populated area. Our innovative, multi-facted district is a cultural kaleidoscope that offers beautiful neighborhoods, bustling small businesses, charming parks and green spaces, and cultural artscapes.

The growth of NECO can be attributed to undeniable conveniences such as groceries, banks, pharmacies, churches, restaurants, and shops at an arm’s length. These amenities enhance the quality of life of NECO residents as well as encourage sustainability.

Get anywhere in NECO in 15 minutes or less

Family-friendly environment? Premium dining experiences? Large department stores? Cafes? Nightlife? NECO residents relish in the fact that they can get to their destination in a max of 15 minutes.

Where is NECO?

29223 (Old School)

The 29223 zip code is the original “Northeast Columbia",” starting on Fontaine Road, moving along Two Notch Road, Parklane Road, and ending at the corner of Two Notch Road and Sparkleberry Lane.

29229 (New School)

The 29229 zip code was established in the late 1990s as the population of the area began to increase due to the new construction of suburban neighborhoods. It starts on the corner of Two Notch and Sparkleberry Lane and spans all of Clemson Road, Hard Scrabble Road, Longtown Road, and part of Percival Road.

29016/29045 (Outliers)

The 29016 zip code is exclusive to the town of Blythewood and the 29045 is split between the Richland County and Kershaw County town of Elgin. So close in proximity and still in the Richland County jurisdiction, these towns are considered an extension of Northeast Columbia.
